Title: Indigenous Experiential Learning: Ojibwe Beadwork

In this experiential learning “Ojibwe Beadwork” workshop for Faculty, Instructors, and Staff, participants will create either a keychain or a pair of earrings using Ojibwe beading techniques for a medallion beading style. The workshop will also provide a historical overview of Ojibwe beadwork and beads from past to present, as well as opportunity to reflect on the project as you are engaged in the learning. There are content connections to Anthropology, Education, History, Indigenous Learning, Mathematics, Natural Resources Management, and Visual Arts. Please note that this activity uses small beads and detailed work, please bring reading/crafting glasses as needed. Please bring your own lunch/snacks and water. This workshop has no cost to attend. Faculty/Instructors/Staff must register to attend this workshop. Seating is limited to 15 participants.
