“Beyond Books and Manuals” Webinar Series 

New series explores how to look deeper and get the most from the Open Library.


The Open Library team at eCampusOntario is excited to announce our new Open Library “Beyond Books and Manuals” series of virtual events that will help everyone interested in adopting digital learning get  more from Open Library and take advantage of the resources available there. 

The series consists of five webinars and four drop-in sessions held monthly from January to April 2023. Registration is free.

Webinars 

January 24, 12:00 – 1:00 pm  -- Media and Arts Open Education Resources (OERs) 
Explore how authors have created OER that embody the principles of art, design and media. Learn how to adopt these resources for your own teaching and implement design elements into your own pedagogy. Discover how to find more media and arts OER.  

February 16, 12:00 – 1:00 pm --  Tabletop Roleplay as OER 
Explore how to integrate open-source Tabletop Role Playing Games and join Kees Schuller in a discussion on the importance of play in pedagogy and how collaborative storytelling can enhance learning.  

February 22, 12:00 – 1:00 pm -- Games and Roleplay 
Some OER take gamification and game theory to a whole new level. From role-playing games to simulations, learn how to adapt and adopt these resources, implement game elements in your own pedagogy and how to find more games and role-play OER.  

March 29, 12:00 – 1:00  Open and Ouvert 
The Open Library incudes numerous bilingual or francophone materials.  Join us during Francophonie Month and explore OER that support the francophone experience and second-language learning, as well as the ways bilingualism affects Open Pedagogy.  

April 26, 12:00 – 1:00 pm – Indigenous Content 
Come discover and explore all the Indigenous resources, experiences, creators and folx available in the Open Library.
