Zine Making in the Library

Zines have a long and interesting history of sharing information in an accessible way. Being a form of self-publication, Zines are fun to make and easy to replicate and distribute.

Participants in this workshop will:

  • Be briefly introduced to Zine making, including how Zines have been used in activist and grassroots movements
  • Make their own zine, while learning the basics of zine making!

Supplies such as scissors, glue, paper and a selection of images will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring additional materials that are of interest to you. Access to computers/printers (and free printing related to this workshop) is also included.

A set of prompts to help spark your creativity will be available on the topics of Thunder Bay and student life, but you are also encouraged to explore your own ideas.

Zines are meant for everyone, and so is this workshop! Participants from all disciples and experience levels are welcomed.

This event will be held in the Northern Studies Resource Centre (NSRC), which is room LI 5007 on the 5th floor of the Chancellor Paterson Library.
